Meet Tina Nguyen

Q&A

Why were you drawn to studying Positive Behaviour Support?

I was drawn to psychology for two main reasons. First, reading a book called ‘The Courage to Be Disliked’ completely changed my perspective on life, anger, and human behavior. It sparked a deep curiosity about psychology, Alfred Adler’s work, and the power of personal growth. I became inspired to continuously improve myself, serve a greater purpose, and strive for excellence in everything I do. Second, my personal experiences and witnessing loved ones struggle with mental health reinforced my interest in psychology. Seeing how long it took them to build resilience and confidence made me realise the importance of psychological support. This drives my passion for understanding the human mind and helping others on their journey toward well-being.

What do you enjoy about your work, and what are you interested in or fascinated by?

Absolutely, it’s the people. I love meeting and connecting with others, but even more so, helping them on their journey toward a better life. I’m fascinated by people’s drive for self-improvement, their desire for positive change, and the complexities of human behaviour.

What drives you to show up for yourself and your clients in this role?

I’m driven by the understanding that my life has been shaped by the efforts of countless people before me and whose struggles have made my journey easier. I believe that I have a responsibility to contribute to the culture and times I live in by making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

What have people said about your approach to this work?

People have said that I am warm, sensitive and calming.
